comptech ss problem

hey guys.. i have had the comptech ss, or sTs i guess i should say, for awhile now, but for the last month or two i have noticed a slight problem. first off, its great, i love the shorter throws, altho i am alrdy used to it and want shorter ones, but thats another story haha.. okay, well the problem is that if i go into 5th or 6th, or reverse, basically if i bring the shifter all the way to the right, and then come back to the left to go into first or second, or not even into gear, just bring it back all the way to the left, it makes a slight knock noise and i can feel it notch a tiny bit just about when im all the way over to the left.. this problem is kinda hard to put into words but hopefully i explained it as best as i could.. i have taken off the shift boot and looked inside to see if i can see anything catching or if anything looks out of place, and everything looked perfect, and i installed it myself, with a friend, so i know the basic concept of the ss, and stuff. any ideas what it could be?

I had problems with mine contacting the black plastic shifter base and had to file a bunch of material out to make the space/hole bigger. Also, I noticed that installing my SS really took one of the cables to its max amount of travel and made things difficult for a while. Also, see if the SS end with the blue cap is not binding/getting stuck on the black plastic end of the lower cable, as the clearance is tight between where the ball with the blue cap pivots. -Don't know if any of that made sense......
