burning oil

i recently checked the oil on my 07 SI sedan, and after 2000 miles (my first time checking, i know i should have checked it sooner) i realized that i had roughly one quart of oil when i should have had 4. is it normal for the car to burn that much oil when its new and has breakin oil in it? is it possible that the dealer didnt fill it with oil? is my car ******? (i hope not)

How did you know you only have a quart? did you drain it and measured it? You wouldn't be able to drive if it only had one quart.

motors when they are brand new need the oil 2 seat in between the moving parts. ie piston rings. so it does more oil usually in the breaking in period. but i no all honda engines burn oil and its kinda good for the engine, cuz buring oil means that the piston rings allow a little bit of oil into the combustion chamber and lubercates the walls of the combusion chamber. just make sure on ur car (esspesially hondas)u do ur oil changes on time. synthetic oil is better cuz it doesnt create carbon when the oil is buring.

I guarantee if he had only 1 quart something is worn down.. Might want to check the oil for shavings..

Yea, down to one quart means something is seriously wrong. Being one quart low is another story.

What are you talking about. I'm sorry. If you get oil comming through the rings, your engine is good as toast. Please, let me see your sources of this reasoning.

Trust me don't worry about it at all. The same thing happened to me, and I started a thread similar to this one. I switched to mobile one at that time, and since then I only burn very little every 1,000 miles. Just remember to always check your oil level in-between oil changes. For example I have driven ~2,500 and I may need ot add 1/4-1/2 quart to top mine off until my next change. The oil burning gets better, but it is drastic at first for sure.
