Lightness of pedal?
Ok since I got my Civic I've noticed that I really don't like how the gas pedal feels so light when I press down on it. Sometimes while driving I don't even realize that I've been pressing the pedal because I barely even feel it. It kind of bugs me so I was wondering if there is any way to fix this problem. Would getting heavier pedals help at all? I was thinking like metal pedals or something that I can feel well under my foot. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Sooo.... You failed to notice this on a test drive BEFORE buying it? The "lightness" is due to the fact the car has a Drive-By-Wire throttle. You are no longer moving a cable that goes from the pedal through the firewall and to the throttle body. If you crouch down and look, you'll see the unit is now contained within the car right above the pedal itself. Chalk this one up to 21st Century technology, sorry. |

I think a heavier pedal, such as attachments or something along those lines will make it worst since you add weight on to something that is already, as you say "light".... certaintly not lifting the pedal.... adding weight will only make it even easier to step deeper into the pedal.
