****! I Really Fd up something good!

So i was running my power wire for my amp. I ran it through the main harness grommut in the middle of the dash firewall.

Wel after a bit before i put my amp in i start my car up.

It sounds loud! Like its not running right. It's rev'ed to 2k and idles there.

I look down!

Check engine light
VSA Light
ABS Light
EPS Light

and the steering well wont turn like the engine is off.

The car wont rev past 4k, the exhuast smells, i try to drive, can't get up to 10mph in frist, almost takes 10 seconds, 2nd isnt much better. I limp home discconnt the ECU, wait, re try, still ****** up

Man I'm sad, sounds like i cut into my harness going to the ECU.

I'm Screwed!

lol...im sorry but that sucks. honda is going to really rip you off if you have to brin git to them to fix, no tto mention they will not cover it under warrenty, and maybe void any future warrenty claims since it had to do with the ecu.

my recomendation, remove any of the stereo install that you put in. cross your fingers and start your car and hope it works correct. if it does, your lucky, if not see what wires you cut and fix them. then go out and find some one tha tknows how to put a system in and let them do it.

I talked to the guy at service, he said if its just a simple wiring issue its probaby no big deal, but if i some connection bridged and 12v power got run through one of the lines that only needs 1 or 2 v power im screwed!

lol

Anyways at least i have free roadside via cingular / att. Ima keep my fingers crossed , please pray for me

This kind of happened to me, I was working on my Retro but left the lights on for a long time. I couldn't start the car because the battery was dead (didn't know it was dead). I had to get it towed to the dealership and they took care of it under warrenty. Of course I didn't tell them what I was doing. Keep up posted and good luck.

We had a situation like yours over at the dealer ship, an 06 ex came in backfiring, fuel smeel all over the shop, would not pass 15mph, we took a look at it and what we found was that the alarm place ran the wire thru the fire wall, cut at least 8 ecu harness wires. We had to charge them 10 hours worth of labor + an engine harness.

why would you cut a hole if it is already there?what size power wire are you running?! that hole should fit 4 gauge nicely! are you running 1/2 or 0 gauge? because thats really the only reason to cut it...thats crazybig power wire!!

On the 07's the whole IS NOT there. I ran 1/0 ga wire and had to drill a big hole. I made sure i didn't drill or cut into anything though.

So the service guy was pretty cool. He was under the dash trying to fix it, unpluging shit checking fuses. It's gonna cost 91 bucks for them to look at it, and my fingers are crossed after that.

ill keep you posted.
