Scuff Marks on Civic Coupe Interior Panel Door

I am pretty sure most civic coupe owners have this problem.

Scuff marks made by shoes when entering/exiting your car on the inside panel of your coupe doors.

They are so hard to remove. Now I am so careful when entering/leaving my car.

Anyone know how to get rid of them? I tried rubbing them off, but with a piece of cloth and water, but with no success. That is the only way I can think of without making anymore marks. Only though I only a few scuff marks on the panel, it's starting to annoy me. It just doesn't look too appealing.

Any suggestions would be great guys.

i had the same problem. i went to honda and complained, but was told it was "wear and tear". WHATEVER!!! so, i bought some of that formula 2001 interior protectant and wiped her down real good with that and have not had any problems since. i'm not sure if it removes the scuffs, or just makes them invisible, but i wipped it down 5 weeks ago, and you still can not see the scuff marks. hope this helps. i know how aggervating it is.

" i'm not sure if it removes the scuffs, or just makes them invisible" What is the difference :)

Some good interior cleaner will get rid of those nasty scuffs with no problem

sorry, what i meant was i think the scuffs are still there, but the formula 2001 makes it so you can't see them anymore. if you were to wipe it off the doors, i am sure you could see them again.

i have tried all interior cleaners out that and could not remove my scuff marks. it was driving me insane, but was happy with the outcome of that 2001 stuff i bought.

"Magic Erasers" You get them wet and they will remove just about anything, but especailly scuff marks on door trim. I think these were discovered in that UFO crash in New Mexico, they really are magic.

This subject pops up on a regular basis on here. It's not just a coupe problem, the SI's have it too. It's part of the "cost effectiveness" of our cars. I call it a disappointment.

Here is one supposed answer for scuffs: Scuff away thread

And all of the threads about this issue: Search: scuffs and scratches

3M tape!

The problem is mostly with the hinge mechanism I believe, where it doesn't allow the door to stay open at the needed angle in order to allow anyone over 3'0" to get in and out, so the door is basically closed or fully open, and anything in between will result in the door closing back on you and aiding you in kicking the cr@P out of the inner panel

Once I get rid of these scuff marks, I think I'm going to try and get one of those 3M protective film covers over it. Sure, it may make it look shinier, but it would look a lot better than having random white scuffs on the door panel.
