EZ LUBE = Fraud

Thought you guys would like to see this. Reason for those who bring thier cars to the shop to think about doing things yourself. And even more reason for those who already DIY to keep on doing what you are doing.

P.S. I'm not sure if this is in the right place or if it is a repost, so mods, do what you will with it.

That hidden manager sounds like the guy that works right at my EZ lube. I'll go there today to see if he's there. Haha. Even though the voice is played with, you can still hear his dorky voice.

Last time I went there, they did an oil change without changing the filter. I found out later. So that was the last time I would ever go there.

And when you guys say, "i'll do my own work." Do it, but every single time I'm there for an oil change, there's really no way to get screwed. I watch them like a hawk and it gets done right.

The people that get screwed are those who walk off to find a coffee bean or something. I know it's wrong but they find this an opportunity to get those people.

Thanks, everyone for commenting on this topic. I have always done my own work, and as a car enthusiast, think others should do thier work too. This is just another reason everyone should learn to do things themselves.

damn... well i personally live in an apartment complex where i cant do my own work.. but it makes me wonder where i should go.

Are dealerships pretty fraudulent when it comes to simple oil changes?

even with watching the technician .... they can still over tighten the drain bolt and oil filter (a nightmare for the next time an oil change is needed).

just make sure you make your presence known. Just the mere sight of you standing there possibly watching them will ensure that they are less likely to screw with you

I agree, for those who can't do their own work, keep a close eye on the tech. Although they may overtighten/undertighten a bold, you know the work is still getting done. All I have to say is be weary of these scams.

im a mechanic and ive never messed with anybodys cars, and when its a nice car i take extra care, u just have to know where to take it to. dont go to a place that just does oil changes because the only way they make money is to do them fast and use the cheapest oil/filter there is, and every once in a while they rip you off and f*** you. its just like going to get somthing to eat, u dont go somewhere thats dirty, u go to the nice, clean place right. well when u go to a mechanic see what kind of cars they drive, what kind of cars there working on and how they treat your car. if you drive past our shop u see 2 fg2's an ap1, and a cobra, and tons of cars getting worked on. do yourself a favor and pay the extra 5 or 10 dollars. not all mechanics are out there to get u , by the way i fix peoples cars all the time because they tried to do it themselves, so if your gonna doit your self dont over tighten things and have somebody help you the first time. o yea and i hate when ppl sit of me like hawk lol.
