Like was this a residential road... 35, or where you out like on a 55mph road. Just trying to get an idea of what speeds you were maybe going. I know you said it was on a downward hill.
Speed limit is 50 MPH on this particular road...but I have no idea how fast I was going. I'm guessing when I dozed off I kept on the gas and just kept going.

Seriously, dude, was there a joint involved? I know you said you didn't drink and drive, but maybe you were smokin' and flyin?
Windows were down, music was blasting, but it just wasn't enough. I just finished exams friday, went to a graduation party that night, then another graduation party the next (neither had alcohol) and I just never got enough sleep.

As for drug use...absolutely not. I go/went to a private school where we were drug tested every 60 days (or whatever the time frame is that drugs stay in your body). I've never touched any illegal substance in my life, and I'm proud of it.

Let us know how the new car search turns out.

Did you get any tickets??
No, no tickets....no laws were known to be broken...except for a possible speed, but that was never brought up seeing that I have no idea what speed I was going. I don't think there would be any reason for an investigation either since no one else was involved.

Actually no, parents are not upset. They are thankful that I am alive and uninjured. It's weird....he knows I am going to suffer for this and really has no real reason to be mad at me. I say this because I'm the one paying for this car, along with the insurance. This was MY baby....everyone that knew me, knew my car was my baby. And with this accident, insurance would be a PITA if I were to get a new car....maybe a used 8th gen??? I doubt it, but it's never too much to hope.

........give me a break. If you are on the road, you are constantly distracted. Hell, today while in my apt community, a truck turned right in front of me while I was driving my red Ridgeline. I guess she didn't see a red truck in complete sunny daylight.... she must have been distracted too.
WHAT??? not look at the girl in the car next to me? You outta your mind? Ha ha. That driver was distracted. I've seen pics of that awesome Ridge.

Chris,
There are plenty of used 2006 civics around. If not, a nice prelude or Accord coupe would definitely work and can be had for a great price.

I don't know you dude, but glad you made it out ok. I'm sure insurance will go up. I had a bad accident like that when I was 17 and it went up about 40%. Sucks being young but you never know maybe you'll have good ins. and they won't kill you over it.

Your accident feels way to close to home for me. I've done lots of late night driving, and I've had my fair share of VERY close calls due to me falling asleep on the wheel.

It's definitely not an easy thing to stay awake when sleepy, but I usually have a bag of candy that I eat as I'm driving, lower the windows, and blast some music. I used to have a spray bottle with water to spray myself when falling asleep and then stick my head out the window to really wake me up. That method was a pretty good way to stay awake for long periods of time.

Anyway, glad you're ok because you could have easily ended up dead.

Reminds me of the movie "National Lampoon's Vacation" with Chevy Chase; when the whole family, including Clark, falls asleep in the car while he's driving.
