I'm Disappointed Big Time

My Civic 07 has a very bad rattling problem. Today I took the car to the dealer and told him that there is a rattle coming from the rear right speaker board. He even test drove and said there was a problem. Also, when I apply break, and release the brake in a downsloap, there is this loud "mechanical" noise. The car was with the dealer for a day, and he said he tightened a few screws in the suspension, near the speaker board, and he said he applied some tapes as well. But, now the noise is worse. Now, the dealer says there could be some service advisory on these defects, and he might have to check. I'M DISAPPOINTED. After all, they say, this is the car of the year under $20,000.
Anyone here has these same problems, and have got it fixed?

Thanks.

There are numerous rattling complaints with the suspension and rear deck on the new Civics.

Try bringing it to another dealership to get a second opinion.

I have had similar issues with the brakes, but I dont think it is a mechanical problem. Only if I very very slowly take my foot off the break do I hear a noise. Your car is still new and so it may take a little while to wear down the brakes a little more. In a front engine front wheel drive car all the weight is up front, so your brakes really work hard, even more so when going down hill.

As for the other issues, I never heard of any problems.

i don't think it's honda.... i think its the place where they make it.. i blame the place where they assemble the cars... same here sorta.. my driver side pillar is WARPED! waiting for them to call me to get it replaced... this is normal though.. every car have a problem atleast! not all the cars are perfect when bought.

Most likely, your rear suspension has to be replaced. Check and see if you have the symptoms described in these threads. If so, go to the dealer and don't be vague, tell them there's a problem with the rear suspension.
