The pictures were lost when the sever was hacked that was hosting them for me. Im sorry. Those pics are long gone. I have none here local to repost.

The repair is 3rd grade mech. 1st grade. If the center console is heating up a cold drink in winter when the heaters on. Your duct has come loose.

Was the first of a laundry list of issues with my Civic. My Mazda3 has only had one issue in 10k miles. My Civic at 10k miles was just showing it true colors....

the duct's proper placement is shown fairly clear in the fifth picture of the linked thread... I put mine back together with some heat rated duct tape in a little over 10 minutes in the dark with a flashlight. Thanks for the thread!

I had the same problem. When I was getting my oil changed, the Service Manager thought it was caused by the catalectic converter. He said it would be a 2 hour job, so I decided to do it my self and do it right. Here is a D.Y.I. for it.

#1 - Take off panel around shifter/hand brake. It just pops off.

#2 - Unscrew all 4 screws shown in picture below. These are just a bracket holding the center counsel in place and together.

#3 - Pop off under cover below glove box. This is simple, just pull it straight toward you, NOT down.

#4 - Use a flat head screwdriver to pull out the center piece of the black plastic clip then pull out whole clip. Do the same on the drivers side, but there is not cover to pull off and the clip is tan if you have a tan interior.

#5 - Open center counsel and remove the bottom rubber pad. Under it you will find 2 screws. Remove them.

#6 - Unplug the wire for the accessory plug in, inside your center counsel and pull the whole center counsel straight back and up into the back seat.

#7 - I installed a screw at each side of the heat duct, by 1st drilling a guide hole through both pieces of plastic, making it as snug as I could.

#8 - I then wrapped the lower portion where it meets the floor ducts with electrical tape.

#9 - Vacuum in-between the seats, cause you know you dropped a fry there and it is a good time to get out all the junk that accumulated there.

#10 - Replace screw that holds the stero/navi that you lost 8 months ago and just found while doing this DYI.

#11 - Put everything back together.
