You've got to be high. But then so many dealers are equally as dumb, so you might just get it replaced!

*no offense intended
Warranty is warranty either way you look at it. People beat on their cars every day and sometimes they break but that is what we have a warranty for. I bet if we didn't have a warranty SOME people would not abuse their cars as much as they do now...

The only issues i could see happening is if the tranny is f*#% up and when they rip it apart they can determine a voided warranty due to abuse. This is possible but I am assuming your car is doens't have enough abuse miles on it to blow the tranny. Check you ss...

well i did take it to the stealership and they said they feel nothing wrong with the gears, tranny or clutch when they drove it and because of that they are not taking it apart. but i do know that it is not the same and feels a bit wierd when it comes to 5th and 6th. service advisor tried to use the amsoil syncromesh as a possible cause but i called BS. he said i HAD to use honda fluids or honda would deny my claim if they indeed found a problem. i called bs again and directed him to the manual that clearly states you can use another type of MTF as long as it meets requirements. he agreed that he didn't believe it was the fluid either and to keep an eye on it.

If they looked at it once and didnt notice the problem this may work to your advantage if something really is wrong. Avoid any further track use for a while and wait for it to act up again. Take it in and show them and if they call it abuse argue it was due to there negelct from the first incident.

Good thing Honda isn't Subaru, else they'd have someone cruising this board and already have informed the dealer to check warranty claims against them in the Las Vegas area for transmission issues and have it denied for abuse/racing.

lmao that is true. seems that the clutch is slipping already at 10k! and i really don't drive that hard. if i do it is every now and then, but i really try my best not to drive it hard. the stealership said nothing was wrong to them but took it to an independant honda/acura specialist shop where i got my header put in and they said the clutch is slipping.

now i guess it is time to step up to a stage 2 clutch and flywheel since i have to get a new one already. anyone know what the norm is for putting in a new clutch?

LOL do they really do that? that must be recently because a brother of a friend of mine took his brand new 06 sti to the track his second day he bought the car and broke his motor mounts. apparently subaru covered them all.

Lets face it, auto manufacturors probably like that some of their brands make it to a track. It is very good advertising. There used to be a saying, "Win on raceday and sell on Monday" from the 70's I think. I could be wrong.

I would put your car back to stock and take it in. GL

the motor mounts on the 06's were plastic. They were bound to break. Subaru screwed up there for sure.

Yes. Sometimes the moderators, many of whom work for subaru dealers, will clue them in to posts.
