My problem
on March 17, 2007 approximately 5:23 P.M. I'm traveling on Highway 199 traveling east. I was driving in the right hand lane(there are 3 lanes) under the speed limit(which is 40mph) when all of sudden the 2 cars in front of me start braking(due to a broke down car). Noticing that these cars where braking to avoid an accident I brake hard, downshift, and turn my car to the right(just in case it wouldnt have stopped)and stopped just in time. The minute I come to a halt I look in my side view mirror to see this lady in a 90 something dodge neon try to swerve to avoid me(the bitch didnt even try to brake) and ended up striking what you see below. i was hit farely hard. hard enough to push me up less than 7 inches away from a wall which is more than 25 feet away from the road.

Insurance co is going to cover the damages and i assume go after the person who caused the accident. im good. i was hoping for perdida total , total loss. but they said its repairable.. i dont know how much were the damages, i dont care to know, and wont sweat it. just want to see it on the road again. nobody was hurt. at least me, i came out without one sore muscle. i dont know how.. she had a kid in the back about 8 years old without a seatbelt on crying. i got scared at first and ran to the kid but he just got suprised by the ordeal. i think there is frame damage look at the second picture.. it will have to be stretched back out. but like i said im good. i just may end up selling it or just using it for what it is and get another but with goodies.. it was stock.

I'm hoping for the best, but that's looking a lot like frame damage. Good luck! Hopefully HER insurance will help you out and your insurance doesn't raise your premium too much.

She doesn't have insurance. when she told me that i wanted to vomit. her husband gets to the scene of the accident and dude told me look this is what we are going to do. he said lets go to compulsorio, state liability ins. and just get high estimates so i could hit him off with some loot.i could not believe my ears. now mind you the state ins. only shells out a max of 3g's. which i dont think would be enough to repair the damage cause.. now in the back of my mind i was saying should i throw a one two and follow it up with a hook and just mess him up real good.. i told him you must be crazy. it aint happening. teach her how to use the brake pedal. she is at fault. i dont have to give you anything. if you dont like them apples then do something. I was thinking court but since the ins. co. is going to handle it i said let them get her. there are some shiesty people in Puerto Rico. Even when they are at fault, they try to manipulate the situation in their favor.. keep dreaming son.. |

there is frame damage....just by looking at the pix i can tell..... definitely gonna need to get pulled.... that will prolly fix the right side of the car with the dent..... basically when the frame gets pulled the right side buckle should go almost completely away....
now for the price it's prolly gonna come close to 10k.... it's a new car and assuming u have good insurance they're most likely gonna put new OEM parts on the car.... and if they don't tell them u only want OEM parts on ur car.... they might even be able to find a rear clip off another car and just put it on like that.... again that depends on ur insurance..... i can't really tell from those pix i could give u a better idea of what parts they're gonna change if i had better pix.... some pix of the roof also that might have buckled a little bit too.... btw how about the interior???... airbags??? I used to work in a collision center at two different dealerships so I kinda have an idea on this stuff.... hope that helped... |

insurance is great. had a 2003 matrix xrs that i totaled and i had no problems what so ever they took care of me.. but no insight on whether it would be the rear clip of another car or if will get pulled back in place. body shop repair dude said he can pull it back into place. i will call tomorrow to see whats the deal. as far as the pictures goes i just really took them for personal documentation. i did check the roof and it seems to be fine but ill leave that to the pros. now dont get me wrong , i would go out and gladly take some more pictures but the camera is in disney world with the fam. the interior is fine. air bags did not deploy, unfortunately! |

well i didn't expect the airbags b/c it didn't hit an srs sensor...
it's aight if u can't get pix.... the bodyman is definitely gonna pull it but i was saying that there are many ways to repair that type of hit... that's y i said the used rear clip, new OEM parts, etc.... since the bags didn't deploy that brings the total estimate down a lot... airbags r expensive.... i've seen cars only a few years old get totaled just b/c of the airbags.... but honda's hold their value even after a hit.... GL with the repairs... |
