My passenger side is also misaligned, particularly noticeable is the unevenness of the black triangle section around the side-view mirror.

How about a complete door being misaligned. I noticed on my Si that the lines on the passenger side door do not match up with the lines of the rear fender. Either my fender is too low or my door is too high.

I think that's what some of us mean. If the front-end of the door is too low, most likely (but not all the time) the rear-end of the door will be high. That's how it is on mine.

dealer dealer dealer

Heres a story.

When I had my software company (co-owner) I cosigned a 05 new WRX for one of my partners. Early this year he took it to his friends shop and had a downpipe and some other stuff installed. They found that the body was actually white. They found black overspray everywhere. The car we purchased is black. He brought this up to the dealership a few times and finally brought in a letter from his lawyer. Long story short, if the car is damaged before purchase and the dealer does not tell you about it they face server fines and can be sued for the value of the car at new retail price. Take it in, get some answers. It may have been miss-aligned at the factory but if it was damaged then they owe you some sort of restitution.

Just keep in mind that the cars are not perfectly built, but i would have the dealer fix it, or fess up to any pre check in damages.

BTW my buddy/bus-partner got a straight trade from his 2 year old WRX to a new STI, the dealer didnt want to goto court.

I don't believe that that is particularly true. There is a certain amount of repairs a car can undergo without it being told to the consumer (unless they ask). I believe it is 10% of the MSRP or something along those lines. This is to protect the dealer from damages to the car while it is in transport from the factory to the actual dealer lot.

I do not remember if it was ClubSi or 8thcivic where I heard about this. I just remember that when someone was trying to trade in their car, they were getting much less than the actual selling price due to the dealership repairs. Go to a dealership with one of those paint-thickness gauges and I'm pretty sure some will not be factory spec (meaning it has been repaired).
