So Honda scratched the tan part under the heater controls...

I brought my car in for an oil change, and to have the bulbs replaced behind the AC / MAX AC lights... Well, they managed to scratch the tan plastic just below them... Looks like they pryed the radio dash piece off with a screw driver . So I bring it in, and they say they are fixing it. I just found the part that they are replacing

http://collegehillshonda.softwareglo...All&vinsrch=no

Part #5... Wow, that was an expensive mistake for them!!! And looks like a major pain in the ass to replace too!

They gave me an 07 Accord for a loaner today, he said it would take a few hours, but I REALLY doubt that...

I don't care how long it takes really, as long as there are no more scratches on my interior!!!

Right, I have taken the dash apart about 5 times and never scratched it. No screw driver needed to get it off... That part is like the entire dash. At first I thought it was just a panel under the radio dash. Nope, it's the entire dash...

there is no way they are replacing that part in a few hours...are you sure they arent just replacing the pocket that fits inside of that area under the radio/ac controls?

when i did my navi retro, i tried for hours to get that part out since all of the wiring harness is behind and attached to it...unless they have a few people working on it, there is no way they can replace that in a few hours.

are you sure that is the part that they are replacing?

Hahah, I know it will take longer than that. Unless they do some kind of half assed job! Then it will be back again. And that part under the radio is attached to THE WHOLE DASH lol. I don't care how long it takes, I'm pimpin the 07 Accord for now.

And the pocket was fine, it was the tan part that was scratched...

They definately arent going to replace that part, there gonna sand id down and use their interior service to air brush it. I took my car to have honda repair my ipod link and the fu***** a-hole is resting the radio on that piece when they called me out there to ask me a question. Needless to say he took like two gauges out of that panel below the heater controls. They replaced every part of the middle console except for that piece at which point they said they would A.) replace it, which meant taking apart the entire car, thus possible creating rattles and almost surely "more scratches" or B.) get a 175.00 dollar credit and have their interior people "fix it". I took option b, and normally their interior service is ridiculously good. All they did is sand down the gauges so bad they pretty much melted them into the rest of that dash piece and then painted it back over. I mean, its an ok fix considering the alternative, and even though its small it is an eye sore everytime I see it. Good luck

Well, they ordered that part, so I think they are replacing it.

No, guess I am just trusting them when they told me that they ordered it. I will be able to tell if they did or not.

Good luck with trusting them, hate to be the negative one. I've just had so much problems at the dealer with stuff like this. I just can see them saying they replaced it and trying to pass if of as fixed with some interior work done. OR they will fix it but screw up about 12 other things in the process. I learned with the dealership if they fix one thing, expect five more when it comes to scratches

Yea man, that sucks. I hope yours turns out good...

Here's an experience I had with Holmes Honda in Shreveport:

Note that I live about an hour and a half away from the closest Honda dealer. (and this honda dealer is right beside a mexican restaurant/bar )

I had my front seat bottoms replaced b/c they were coming off the seat-bottom assembly.

When I picked my car up 6 (drunk) hours later both lower B-pillar pieces were scratched to hell and back. I almost left before I saw them.

They "ordered" new parts. I went back 2 weeks later for them to install the pieces. I was sitting there about 45 minutes, thinking "I could be done by now..." About that same time, the guy who took my car in came up to me and said "What were you here for again?"

"=| ... seriously?"

*looking at his computer tablet* "Oh, your seatbelt pieces... (I didn't say anything) Well, one part was damaged in shipping, and the other part came in and they sent the top portion, not the bottom, so... You're going to have to come back when the correct parts come in."

"No, I'm sorry but I cannot. May I speak to the service manager?"

Needless to say, they shipped the correct parts to my house and I installed them in under 15 minutes...

Yeah sure, abuse the goodwill of the dealer by pounding hell out of their loaner.
The poster is lucky they GOT a loaner because many dealers have suspended this. Why? because of the insurance needed to protect their cars from those who act out such childish thoughts....

The sanded it down and dyed it. It looks ok, they gave me 4 free oil change coupons. I'm hoping when I turn my lights on tonight that they all light up correctly... They did order a dash piece, but he said it wasn't the right one, it looked like the right one he said... Oh well, it's good enough, and I'm sick of bringing it in.

I hope the lights all work...
