Right, Nissan used to be make some of the best cars as well as Mitsubishi back in the day. Nowadays, they seem to be some of the worst companies next to Mazda. Mazda seems to have the worst reliability ever since Ford took over. What happened??? |

I just have to add in my 2 cents.
To be honest, once the intial "thrill factor" wore off with my '06 Si, i've become increasingly dissapointed with the car, particularily the build quality. The tranny is awful, the seat fabric is fraying something fierce, the rear bumper has warped a bit so that there's a "hump" directly below the license plate, the windshield wipers are already streaking bad, the tiny spring on the cover for the Aux input broke after the first month, etc. And most of these just get chalked up to "wear and tear" according to Honda, so it's my cost. I have no doubt that the clutch is going to require replacement much sooner than normal. Going to double up the payments and get it paid off ASAP, then sell it and get an STi. I've only ever owned Hondas, and have never had one that felt so fragile. |

1. the electric cooling fan comes on and gradually cools things down. 2. you get some airflow through the radiator by what ?? driving it that's what. And in all fairness who would expect a 2006 car,Honda or not,to overheat especially when (if the original poster is telling the truth) he/she checked the engine physically and saw no coolant leakage or evidence of loss. Hell, even you or I might try the "drive it" routine. Since the block is the strongest part of the engine it would be the least likely part to develop a crack from overheating. The head would be more likely. It could have been a stuck or faulty thermostat or a faulty temperature sensor..that is the one that turns on the electric cooling fans or a faulty electric motor on the fan itself. Finally, who said it was initially overheated just that it showed an elevated temperature much as YOUR car does when it idles for an extended period. |

![]() Also, I'm one of the few people that haven't blamed your driving habits on the fact that your car went up in smoke, so divert that anger towards someone else. Actually, I blamed it on your dealership having dumbass technicians that didn't know what they were doing. Most of your posts here are nothing but complaining about a car that most people on this site love. Okay, you don't like your car. I'll say this again, get rid of it and quit crying about it. Here, I'll help you out a little bit: ![]() I've suggested everything but to keep the car that you keep complaining so I'm lost as of what you want me (or anyone else for that matter) to say. Do you want us to say that all Honda Civic's are pieces of **** just because yours was broken into a couple of times and then broke down? If so, go ahead and start holding your breath because if all civics had the problems that yours has, mine sure as hell would be broke down by now. I've mis-shifted and redlined the hell out of my car, and it's still going strong. I've got 38500 miles on it and the only problems that I've had, I caused. Maybe you should take another look in the mirror with your problems, especially since questioning all the other possibilities offends you for some reason. :cliffs: Quit crying.. buy another car or figure out why yours sucks and fix the problem.. stop trolling and pointing the finger at everyone else. |

I'll point this out again since you obviously haven't understood me yet. I haven't pointed the finger at you for your car being a piece, nor will I. I wasn't there when all of this happened and I have no idea how it happened, all I do know is that other people have hated on you and now you're getting an attitude with me for no reason. I've also said that the si is in no way the holy grail of sport compacts, and told you that I recommend you getting an ion redline for the better performance. In response all you have done is convinced me to never attend sjsu. Carry on. |
