No sir, it doesn't. If you had said that about an sti I would've agreed with you 100%, but evo's take very well to mods, especially the evo9. A friend of mine went from an evo8 to a 9 and did the same mods to the 9 and the gains were a decent amount better than the 8. They can be made into quick cars for not much money at all, that's why tuners love them so much.. well, that and the awd (obviously).

btw, another huge +1 to the noob. Awesome post.

+1. The Evo has a very rich tune from the factory. Makes it quite easy to extract power from it especially since it is a turbocharged engine. Same goes for the Mazdaspeed 3.

Have fun with your tC though, I'm sure you'll love it. I see way too many down here at USC compared to the 06-07 Coupes (and I've only seen 2 Si's).

P.S.: Holy crap, I just noticed that the Vishnu was able to extract 100HP for the EVO IX with just a reflash... crap, I should've just bought one of those

Whoa, that's a serious post right there. Calm down and take a breather for a minute there man.. no one is saying the si is the holy grail, just a better put together car. I personally like the tc and it's a perfect match against the ep3 stock for stock. From the little reading that I've done though I don't think the s/c'd tc is that great. It only added like what, 40hp to the wheels? From what I've seen they run about a 14.5 1/4 s/c'd and that IMHO just doesn't cut it for a car that runs low 15's stock.

I think that you should see if there's any way that the dealer will lemon law your car for such a serious problem.. it's possible, not very likely but possible. If I were in your shoes I would buy a project car and build it up instead of having a d/d project car. That way you don't take the hit on trading in your civic and you still have a car that gets great gas mileage.

Idk though man, you do what you feel you need to. Sorry if you were offended.

Btw, I'm not emo. I hate little girls with penis' and if I could I would fly the world just to slap every single one of them. They get on my nerves.

[edit] Also, if you leave the honda family for a gm product please do it for an ion redline. Those things are impressive and I would recommend them to anyone that was looking for a sc'd sport compact. I think as far as numbers go the ion rl>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>sc'd tc. Although the build quality might be a little better on the tc (as far as resale shows), what are you wanting... fun to drive and impressive hp numbers or a tc?

1) SC TC not faster than Si. As fast maybe, but not faster.
2) Yeah you only had it for 18 months.
3) You drove it when you KNEW it was over heating!!! BRILLIANT!!
4) Ruining the engine was %100 YOUR fault, dont blame Honda.

By driving the car with the temp gauge at max, YOU CRACKED THE BLOCK.

It gets really tiresome hearing people bellyache and saying " my (insert car brand here) exploded. These cars suck. (etc., etc.)", when it is the OWNER'S responsibility to check the car and its parameters BEFORE EVERY DRIVE. If something isn't right, it is YOUR responsibility to take appropriate action, and it's the dealer's responsibility to fix it, if it is still in the warranty period. It may have been a defect from the factory or some outside circumstance may have contributed, but THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE GAUGES ON CARS, to let you know ahead of time that something needs to be looked into.

It sucks that your car overheated. It sucks even worse that the block cracked. I feel your pain. BUT..... YOUR CAR TRIED TO WARN YOU, YOU JUST DIDN'T PAY ANY ATTENTION. I certainly wouldn't blame Honda for this one. I bet you'll never ignore that temp gauge on any future car.

... end rant
Very good point

And? They will fix almost anything under warranty. Unless they can prove that is was due to neglegence. I know Im not stupid enough to drive my car when its overheating. That would just be idiotic.
