I would take it in, if for nothing else to just make sure that the situation is documented well. It is worth a try....

i went to the dealership about the 2nd and 3rd gear problem and they said its because of the cold weather in jersey and that the tranny is cold if it keeps up in the spring or summer im just going to change to amsoil thats definetely your best bet i will most likely change to that also

I noticed that after switching to Amsoil for my tranny 2nd gear started grinding at high RPMs.

Basically the only way I can avoid grinding 2nd at high RPMs (above 7500) is to shift slow. I'm sure it is just a case where I am not fully disengaging the clutch when I "speed shift".

Just found it strange that it never happened with the old "crap" tranny fluid. Maybe it being overfilled from the factory helped cover any bad shifts.

Then again I can shift as fast as I want any other gear/rpm so I don't see how I can just be screwing up my shifting into second.

Maybe it's my short shifter, thinking about taking it out and trying some high speed 1 -> 2 runs.

My best recommendation is to go with Amsoil. I did on mine and it's smooth. However, when it is cold <40 degrees, 1st to 2nd syncros don't line up quick enough and 1st pinches while 2nd does not let me in easily. The only solution is to slow your shifting in cold weather.

Oh yeah, and Honda dealerships suck. They will try to stick it to ya every time.

Change it to your hearts contend

I am using Royal Purple Synchromax and so far no grinds of any kind

Our cars have a fair shair of issues . I met a guy today that had an 07 Si. His second was grinding badly. It was grinding while he was at a stand still... he put it into second at a stop just to show me how bad it is.

Personally my tranny has yet to grind or pop out. I'm at 5000 miles. Third is very notchy though. Maybe i'm lucky because of all the VTEC i hit when the car only had 10 miles on it, lol
