P0443 code, please help!

Hello all, as some of you may know, I installed a K&N SRI on my R18 a few months ago but got a CEL. Well, I tried the reseting, reinstalling, cleaning, and going to places to get the code but nothing worked. None of my local places could read the car...found out they were missing certain pins that read the imports. But I was recently in Biloxi MS and stopped at an Advance Auto Parts and they were actually able to read the car! So now I know the code. It is P0443 and has to do with emmision controls. Two sensors are tripping, both throwing the same code, both having to deal with emmisions. So my question is, does anyone know how to fix a P0443 code?

I'm looking this one up for you man. I'm trying to find something.

Here's what I've gotten so far from www.obd-codes.com
DTC Codes - P0400-P0499 – Auxiliary Emissions Controls
P0443 Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit

Thanks! Yea, before I knew the code, I figured it had to do with emissions or something like that. My original assumption was the MAF sensor, but according to Marvie, that would put the car in limp mode...which it is not.

Hmmm.... way back during my AEM CAI days, mine threw cell. I had just put the exhaust on and my mech said the car was running rich. Weird. He thought I had chipped the car. Being as he was a hondatech at our dealership you'd think he'd know that you can't chip it but whatever. Lol. Anyway, they just reset it.

You said you've reset, reinstalled etc. Have you put the stock airbox back on yet, unplug your battery, reattached and seen what that'll do? If not try that. If that doesn't work, leave the stocker on and drive it to Honda and have them work on it.

Well, I have a lady at Honda that is willing to help me on the side...she just said not to take it in with the CEL on to Honda, just come and get her. She used to do heavy modding, so maybe she can find something. Also, I called K&N when it first happened and they wouldn't help me unless I had a code...which I now have...so that is another option. As for reinstalling the stock, I haven't done that yet.

Thanks for the help though, + rep.

No problem. You're welcome and I hope it all works out for you. Good luck!

You didn't remove the resonator box, did you? Assuming all you did was disconnect the stock airbox and tubes, I'd reinstall them and see how it goes. If it doesn't return a CEL, then I would reinstall the K&N one more time, otherwise, you may be looking at a defective unit.

I did remove the box...A heatshield came with the unit.

People have ran their cars with solely the airbox, so if it's too big of an inconvenience for you, then just install the upper airbox and see how it goes.
