Clicking/rattling behind dash when idle, normal?
Hi,
I have a mt lx 4dr with close to 500 miles on it. When idling around 650, there is a constant clicking or rattling sound which seems to be coming from behind the dash. Before I have it checked out, I wanted to see if this was a normal sound. I think it could be the engine itself, but I'm not sure. I thought maybe it was the hood or oil stick but doesn't seem like it. The sound isn't really loud; I can only hear it when the radio is off, but it's definitely there. It usually disappears at around 1200rpm or maybe the actual engine sound dampens it. Thanks for any input! :) |

Thanks for the info. I'm in Boston so it's been chilly ever since I've gotten the car. Definitely one of those sounds that can easily be missed, but once discovered impossible to ignore :). Guess I'll just leave the radio on a bit louder.
Other than that I really like the car though. Can't wait to pass the breakin period and open it up a bit more! |
