summer + r18 + 5w30 = ??

according to my calculation.. my next oil change should be in mid july.. SUMMERTIME!!!
Canada gets humid and hot (in ottawa atleast) during this time..
u guys think its ok to run a bit thicker oil? is 30 that much thicker than the honda recommended 20?
what can i expect when running 5w30? less mpg's, noisy engine, bad emmisions..
help!

5W-20 is perfectly fine to run all year round. It has shown excellent wear results in UOAs, so I wouldn't worry about using anything but either 0W-20 or 5W-20 all year round.

5w-30 is fine, it will not void your warranty, nor will it harm your engine. Difference between 20 and 30 is negligible.

just curious... what makes you think you should deviate from the oil weight that Honda recommends for your engine?

ur fuel consumption will probably go up, because of the thicker oil
