Pizza Box - Dash Sratched For Good

I will post pics tomorrow.

My wife was holding a pizza box in the front seat. When she was getting out, the pizza box (corner) lightly grazed the dash above the globe box.

I know have a 6"-7" permanent white mark from the pizza box on the dash. Nothing will get it out. The mark even goes over the vent which also has a white mark which won't come out.

Imagine having to look at that for the life of the car.

I am very worried about the longevity of the inside materials, which, has been discussed many times at this point.

*waves at the piss-poor plastic in the Civic*

Seriously. I don't care if the plastic is high quality or not. I can't hardly tell the difference. If you made a Chevy's interior shaped like the Civic's interior, had I never been in one, I promise you I wouldn't know the difference.

But unlike the Civic's, the Chevy's doesn't scratch if you breath on it.

Or..in this case, put a carboard box on it.

I have one, 1.5" scratch on the driver's side door. My fingernail went up against the plastic and left a mark. Won't come out. Needless to say, I'm really careful now.

It hurts to see that. I know how much of an eyesore that could be on your new car. I have a two inch scratch on the bottom of my glovebox. I think one of my friends pants accidently rubbed it or something..............

yeah that looks more like surface damage than just a mark...that's f'ed up. I'd beat that girl within an inch of her life...that'd be the last time she rides in my f'in car.

(More sarcasm)

Dude. If the Armor All Vinyl/Plastic Protector stuff doesn't work, you may wanna try takin a heat gun to it. I forgot where I read it (somewhere on the forum) that someone was able to get scuffs and scratches out by heating the area a little bit (and probably rubbing with a cloth?). Just don't heat it so much that everything melts I guess. I can't seem to find the original thread, but I'll put it up if I can find it...

Mequiars sells products that will take that off instantly. I believe it's the vinyl cleaner. I forgot what number it was.

Don't stress over this mark because it's clearly somethign that can come right off.

And next time, ask for delivery.

One that costed $20,000 these are not cheezball cars anymore; I think I would accept that if it was like a Hyundai accent, maybe a fit. Civics are nice / expensive cars, not luxury but still nice.
