The easiest fix is to force your friends to wear their seatbelt.

Besides, if you were to wreck your car with them in it you and/or your insurance company would be paying out a lot of money for thier medical bills.

I do too, i hate it, i got my DRL's off and made a write up about that, maybe i can find this fuse, or find a way to disable it, the light on the dash is enough, i dont need a bell too.

yes there is a way to disable it, but it also messes with the air bag system, so i dont think u want to disable it---airbags will not deploy in accident

I agree with one of the above posters. Seatbelts are supposed to be on. Take it from someone who has watched a family member get their balls sued off by passenger that was a supposed friend. Don't F with safety features, especially ones involving passengers. If they find out there was supposed to be a chime and there is not, your done.

While most of the time I agree with the sentiment that wearing a seatbelt is optimal, I for one have come across several situations in which I do not have my seatbelt on and find the chime to be rather annoying. The first is every day when I go to check my mail. Once I have checked my mail, I drive from the mailbox to my home. The actual distance is not far and I don't drive more than 20 mph, but its just far enough that every time the alarm goes off. Secondly, when I have been doing some shopping at outdoor shopping centers, when I drive from store-to-store I don't always put on my seatbelt. Yes, you can argue that a seatbelt should be worn in both situations, but it is my own choice as to whether or not I wear a seatbelt in those situations. I shouldn't have my car scaring me every time I elect not to wear it in a situation I find to have adequate risk.

the chime goes off less than every 60 seconds. it's insane. all my friends that have ridden with me say the same thing. "What the Fuc_ is that noise?" "Can't you disable it?" And, what kind of friend sues the driver for not putting his own seat belt on. Call it what you want, but I'd get medieval on his A$$.

he's ****ing dumb....

airbag will deploy if there is a person and if the car THINKs that the seat belt is worn(by his theory)

but just a chime...it's something you can just unplug(a unit that makes sound) THAT IS IT. not like rigging some shit to the seatbelt or airbags....

O and he needs to go the fvck back to 7th gen where he's from. 8th gen is NONE OF YOUR ****ING BUSINESS get the **** out

Easy there....

He is somewhat right because if you want to disable the entire warning system, where the light doesn't flash and chime does not sound, you cut certian wires under the seat. That will disable the air bag systems because an air bag alone is worse than nothing, sometimes. But Honda has no way of knowing what your specfic situation is, so they just disable it.

Now if you don't mind digging around inside your dash, then you can disable just the chime speaker.

For those of you complaining, this has been standard on ALL cars/trucks since '04. My '04 civic did it and so does my '05 F150. My friends '04 Cavi does it too. And every car I've rode in that is newer does it, the ones I check anyway.

They do it, but not with the same frequency. Watch your clock next time, and you will see that it happens twice within 60 seconds. And all I would like to disable is the chime. The light is still somewhat nice to have. :)

HA HA HA....I figured out how to disable in the first week I had the car. It was so easy that everyone on here might wanna kick their own ass for not figuring it out. Here you go....Undo the two tiny torx screws that hold the seat belt together. Click the other part of the seat belt in and watch how it works. You'll notice it pushes on a small button. Now, get a piece of sheet metal about 1/2" wide and an inch long and about 40 thousanths thick. Bend a 90 degree leg on it, and put it up to the switch, now bend the other leg so you can slip it over the switch so it keeps the button depressed. Check for interference and trim as necessary. The clip will look like a "U" but the rounded part flat. Now reassemble. Do to passenger side now. The only drawback is the yellow "passenger air off" light will stay on until someone over 45lbs sits in the seat. Do you need the passenger airbag on with no one in the seat anyway???? I have had this done since the first week I had my car and I took delivery in October and no problems. Have fun not hearing that annoying chime!
