Exclamation Coolant Res.

My coolant reservoir went empty the other day because the hose running from the radiator pressure cap came off...not sure how. anyway, my question is, if I put the hose back on and just refilled the reservoir, is that going to cause air bubbles to build up? and what possible problems would I have to deal with. Will I need to flush my coolant system to get rid of the bubble.

there should be no problem - you can just fill it back up. If you're going to fill it up with another brand, then I'd flush it out. Otherwise - just fill er up.

had the people over at honda give me a bottle of "universal coolant"...basically prestone 50/50 that they said works with the coolant that's already in the radiator...I dunno if they are right..but if they screw up..it's under warranty.

It should work fine with the small amount you are adding.

Prestone All makes all models is basically a Dexclone. Honda Long Life is basically a Dexclone with phosphates to help with corrosion.

If you had to put a lot in, I would just get the HG Honda Long Life stuff. But only filling the puke tank you will be fine.

Mine was just a little below the low mark, and I just added some distilled water to bring it up about 1/2 way between the marks. It only took about 8 oz. to do this.

wow, any ideas how did the hose come off? Did you go over a high curb or something like that? I scratch my bottom all the times when I park on the lots. Civic is just too low. I'm always paranoid I'm gonna rip something off.
