Pops out of gear at 50 + MPH

Hi. I have an 06 Coupe manual trans. While I'm driving on the highway at either 4th or 5th gear, the shifter pops out of gear without my foot even being close to the clutch. does anyone else have any knowledge of what could have caused this?

I've searched the forum, but only found issues involving other gears. but it seems that there are several transmission problems with the 8th gens

ps sorry about being new

No need to be sorry, flip. I would take it to the dealer ASAP and demonstrate the problem.

Hey guys what's up.

i've taken it to the dealer twice, and they didn't experience the same problem, but it still happens

the guy said maybe next time i should ride along with the technician

but sometimes it takes 10 minutes or more before it starts happening
then it'll happen every 5 minutes sometimes

i don't usually make long trips on the highway, but to prevent it from happening, either i have to keep my hand holding the shifter or i put it in neutral for a while, then put it back in gear.

sucks.
i hate the honda dealer.

The ******* worst happened. My trans failed on my trip from the Chi to NYC

I had to get it replaced at a Honda dealer in Pennsylvania. Free with my warranty, but damn the bus fares and towing costs kicked my ass.

At least they did a good ass job, and were nice as hell.

I feel like I have a brand new car

I actually saw this happen to a last DC5 RSX once. The driver was accelorating in 4th gear and it just slipped out slowly. It was one of the weirdest things I have ever seen happen in a car.

I had the same problem. It was a manufacturers defect. They have to replace the gearbox most likely. THat's what they did for me.
