2006 Civic LX - Low Fuel Economy

Has anyone else experienced poor fuel economy with their Civic DX/LX ?
I just bought a used 2006 Civic LX with 15,000km and found fuel economy to
be about 25% LOWER than expected. This really sucks, as this is the primary reason I replaced my 1996 Civic.
I currently burning 8 litres per 100 km. This should be around 5.6 L / 100km.
Driving is almost all highway, at the speed limit.

Thanks for any help.

Rick

We need more details, such as high and city mix? Where are you located? There could possibility be a mixture of cold weather and winter gas. Tire pressures? Automatic or manual?

Trust me, you won't be getting 5.6 L / 100 kilometers. I think a lot of people are averaging 7 - 8 L / 100 kilometers.

I have to be honest, I have 9500+ miles on my LX, I do more than city than highway during winter and fall (right now).

My local gas mileage truely sux. It's not much better than the 05 subaru impreza I had.

I am filling up quite often and I know city driving affects mileage greatly but mine is really poor.

I have considered unhooking the battery for a few minutes so the computer can kinda reset.
