2006 Civic LX - Low Fuel Economy
Has anyone else experienced poor fuel economy with their Civic DX/LX ?
I just bought a used 2006 Civic LX with 15,000km and found fuel economy to be about 25% LOWER than expected. This really sucks, as this is the primary reason I replaced my 1996 Civic. I currently burning 8 litres per 100 km. This should be around 5.6 L / 100km. Driving is almost all highway, at the speed limit. Thanks for any help. Rick |

We need more details, such as high and city mix? Where are you located? There could possibility be a mixture of cold weather and winter gas. Tire pressures? Automatic or manual?
Trust me, you won't be getting 5.6 L / 100 kilometers. I think a lot of people are averaging 7 - 8 L / 100 kilometers. |

I have to be honest, I have 9500+ miles on my LX, I do more than city than highway during winter and fall (right now).
My local gas mileage truely sux. It's not much better than the 05 subaru impreza I had. I am filling up quite often and I know city driving affects mileage greatly but mine is really poor. I have considered unhooking the battery for a few minutes so the computer can kinda reset. |
