Strange Auto Tranny Behavior
I'm sure I saw a thread about this somewhere, but couldn't find it. Anyway, my question is about Auto Transmission in new civics(06 and 07). Assume your are driving, and you reach a red light, you want to turn right. So, you slow down and before coming to full stop turn right and push the accelerator pedal again(in a normal way). At this point, not always but most of the times, my car jumps forward! So, it does not start accelerating smoothly. It is annoying because everybody in the car can feel it! Don't you think something is wrong there?
Does anybody else have the same problem? Thanks, Amir |

yeah i feel this too, i'm not sure exactly what it is. Either DBW (Drive-By-Wire) or an oversensitive gas pedal. I really don't know which, but i've brought my car to honda countless times for this and they ALWAYS say there's no problem.
This is also really evident at stop signs since you need to stop all the time. It feels like there's some "slack" in the gas pedal. I feel that if my foot doesn't press down slightly on the gas pedal, it will shoot forward. |

Is this what you guys talking about? I believe all civic ATs have this problem. Somehow if you are going around 6 to 8 MPH and decide to accelarate, you will get a rough downshift to 1st.
Problem when coming to a stop...rev hang??? |
