Body work

So here is my story...My baby got dented in a parking lot while I was in a store by God knows what. So I go through insurance company for the fix, take it to a body shop that has done work for me before and get it fixed. The day I get the car back I notice that there is a spot in the paint where they didn't completely fill in and sand out all the imperfection. So I tell the shop owner and he takes care of it but when I go to pick up the car it still has the same spot.
When I tell my friends and family about the problem and show them the spot most people say they can't even see it. The problem is that I can see the spot and it bugs me. Isn't that what matters or am I just asking to much of the body shop to return the car back to me in perfect condition, like it was before the accident? I hope that someone who works at a body shop can give me an answer about my question but I wouldn't mind feedback from others. Thanks guys.

You'd be the same way if you loved your car to death. If the work wasn't half assed from the start, the customers would never complain.

Just remember fellas when your car has been damaged. It will almost always never will be the same again.

Goodluck on fixing it but I would try to just not look to hard at it.

That is exactly how I feel. Its hard to find people that actually take pride in their workmanship. +1

I just checked your profile... you have a Fiji Blue Si.

The thing with heavy-pearl paints like FBP, HRP, GG, and NBP - you can't really use touch-up paint for these. You'll never get a perfect match unless you repaint the whole panel.

well you can burn it in...but an experianced eye can see the burn lines...you can use touch up paint if its really small...best way to get that to be less visibile is buff and polish...it really depends on what "imperfection" it is

There is a small pit in the paint about 2mm in diameter, 1mm deep, and the area is not completely smooth. Especially when you look at it from an angle. Look, I know I'm gonna get things like rocks hitting my car that will look even nastier but I expect better quality control out of a body shop. Am I asking to much?

nah, they should have fixed the pits...judging by that...i would say its in the body filler...easy fix and requires repainting...now this may not be exactly what it is...just guessing by the description you gave me.
