2nd gear woes.

I searched, couldn't find a relevant topic so here it goes.

Lately, since I changed to Amsoil MTF, going to 7500ish in 1st gear, then shifting fast to 2nd, it grinds and seems it doesn't go in.

One time, the rev limited bounced past 8k because of this. WTF is going on ?

Anyone ?

Did Amsoil solve all your other problems? Or did it just create one?

Are you pressing on the clutch all the way when shifting to 2nd?? That might be your problem....

^ I might be shifting a little too fast, however, every car I've driven in the past (I'm talking Viper GTS, 300ZX TT, 70 454 Stringray 4spd) I have never experienced this.

Of course, the cars listed above are of a hella different category, but goes to show I can drive any car.

rwd cars are different, because the shifter mounts directly on the transmition and its mechanically atatched to the rods. This provides a nice crisp feel to the shift. Try it, go shift an s2k and see how nice it feels compared to ours..
