Man i'm glad i didn't get the SI,it seems like the SI has alot more problems than the R18 does, there are many horror stories with the SI with the clunking suspension,3rd,2nd gear problems, oil leaks, rev hang etc i think its the same transmission the RSX Type-S had because the RSX,had the same problem. I wonder if anything was improved for the R18 and SI for 08 model year. Any and all problems i've had with my R18 have been small and every recall is done so i'm happy. I guess i'm the lucky few that don't have as many problems as others do. I love my R18 and at least i don't have to pay premium gas to fill it and atleast i don't have to deal with an annoying transmission that doesn't want to stay in gear. The SI doesn't really need premium but Honda recommends it for performance,it was the same for my friends TL.

Any TSB's or Recalls go out about the SRS Cable Reel? Heard a couple of people in my other thread say something about it. Creaking steering is the result of a failed unit.

I hope they do come out with an official recall for the transmission. I work at a honda dealership in sales and I love my car..had a prelude before that..and Im sort of disappointed..my 1997 with 140000 had less creaks an groans an rattles than my si so far. they seriously need to consult the manufacture plant in canada an address these issues. Im going to be shooting out an email to honda headquarters regarding my disappointment in the quality. the car in terms of power an handling shines. but the read deck rattles. popping out of plastic parts. an third gear issues are just not what Ive expected from them. I love selling the product though. so im here with ya on the gear issues

I started getting a "popping" sound coming from the steering column not too long ago, right when it started to get cold it seems. After about ~30 minutes of driving, the popping noise goes away. It only makes this noise when I turn to the right and then left (at slow speeds or stationary). I found a topic about it on honda-tech and it seems that others are having the same problem as well.

I have a bulletin that states there may be an issue with the Honday MTF, it's just a bulletin though, not a TSB or recall. Forgot where I got it. I can't host it anywhere but I can email it to someone. It's dated 1/07.
