I've also found shifting into 5th is usually tougher than the other gears. And driving at high speeds with the passenger window down without a passenger causes the passenger seat belt clip to bounce off something with a really loud, annoying THWAP THWAP sound. And the 'i' in iVTEC can be annoying, especially when I'm trying to get on the throttle. Sometimes it lets the engine push hard, but sometimes it's just not there. Too bad there's not a manual switch to turn off economy mode at lower RPMs, when you want it. And it seems like my clutch needs to be adjusted, or else the response isn't consistent. At times, it seems to grab too quickly as soon as the clutch begins to come off the floor.. I usually find myself raising my foot just a tad and waiting to see how hard the clutch catches before I continue to lift my foot, because it may catch hard in which case I let it out slowly the rest of the way, or it doesn't catch hard in which case I can let it out at a normal rate. I dunno it's a pain in my ass, at times my civic is more unpredictable than my girlfriend.

someone said something about the "passenger air bag off" icon
on the dashboard by the stereo icon or the one by the speedometer? If it's the one by the dashboard..do you have stuff on the passenger seat? The Passenger off will come on if you have stuff that weights a little over 5 lbs. I had the same question and someone answered it for. I'll see if I can find the post. If it's the other one, than have it checked out by the dealer. here is the link to the "passenger airbag off" On/Off Passenger Air Bag Last edited by HkyGrL2; 06-25-2007 at 06:26 PM. |

engine ticking at idle....is it normal?
i noticed it was posted up top as well. i also have a light clunk sound coming from the front driver side suspension. sounds like control arm, bushing, or a joint. i will bring it in to get it looked at. could be normal, i may not hear the passenger side sounds because it's farther from my ears?? |

I also had a terrible wet dog / dead rat smell. I seem to have made the mistake of leaving recirc off quite often recently for a few days during rain. The dealer could not find anything, but said some water was on the mat and he cleaned things up. It is reducing since then, but is still there. None of the mats seem to smell and even after the dealer opened up the whole dashboard / AC section, nothing could be found.

Looking for PDF file on recall # 06-070
Hi.
I'm trying to find an actual Honda TSB (not just the short blurbs on the TSB/recalls in this thread) on recall #06-070. I've searched this thread as well used the search function on the entire forum and can only come up with the short NHTSA blurbs. It seems like I can't find recall info on this site. Direct me? is the closest I could come across. Any one have a link to the actual technical service bulletin? Thanks. |

Alright. i have 5 spoke 215/45/r17 Drag rims/kumho AST tires, and im getting really annoyed with a certain sound. when i roll on a really smooth road where theirs no bumps to interfere with the noise from the wheels i hear this wah wah wah wah wah noise and its hard to tell if its the tires becuase ive gotten them checked and they have no uneven wear or balance problems. alignment has been done twice. the sound is similar to the sound a tire might make with a uneven bubble in the tread, but since thats not the case i have yet to find out what it could be. any input would be great. do you guys think it could be an uneven circular shape in th rim its self or maybe a bent axle? which i hope isnt the problem..although im getting this crappy sound, the car doesnt bounce or move wierd with the sound but the sound sounds like it would have an affect on the smoothness of the ride...any input guys would be really cool. anyone else have the same problem? by the way i have a 2006 gg ex coupe.all stock except wheels and tires
