Unhappy Oil coming out from valve cover

Hey guys...

When I did my first oil change two weeks ago, I put in 5Q of oil instead of the recommended 4.6Q by accident. I decided not to drain the 0.4Q since I read a few times that it was recommended to add a half quart of oil when going to the track, so I thought it wasn't a biggy...

Yesterday, after going on a spirited drive with some FGcoupers... I noticed a little bit of oil coming out from the valve cover gasket and dipstick. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't like it had exploded or anything but you could still wipe oil off with your finger...

So I cleaned all the excess oil off and made sure my oil level was good... and my plan is to drive it for a couple of weeks and see if it happens again.

Anyone had the same/similar problem? What do you guys think I should do now? Should I bring it to the dealer and get it looked at? Help!

Thanks.

its better to be .4 quarts low than .4 quarts too much. when there is too much oil, it starts to boil.

your oil might foam up in your crankcase and your oil pickup will suck in foam and that's not good.

I do have what looks to be oil seapage on the right rear corner of my valve cover.

Honda checked it 1000 miles after I got the car and found nothing wrong but the wettish spot still remains. I have not really noticed any oil loss though.

.4 quarts won't hurt or damage your car by the way.

I thought that it actually took 5.2 to fill it up?

It boils does it? Never heard of that, but you are totally overloading the oiling system. Can even push past the rings sometimes and cause blow-by.. doubt it is on a car with such low mileage, might wanna check the exhaust anyways.
