2007 Civic LX Automatic Question

Hey guys and gals.

Just got my new 2007 Black Civic LX. Its an automatic.
I love the ride but have a couple of questions:

Should you feel a distinct downshitf betweek 20-30 MPH? It actually slows down the car to a degree. Also - when I'm coming to a stop I feel a buck forward (ever so slightly).

Like I said - I love the car - and I'm just wondering if I'm overanalyzing it b/c its my first brand new car. Thanks in advance!!!!!

Yeah, when you just let the car coast to a stop, you can feel it downshift to help slow it down. It will also downshift when you coast downhill. Kinda cool in my opinion.

Same here, seems normal!

Took me some time to get used to but I don't even realize it happens anymore!

Normal. If you listen carefully, you can hear the engine revs change as the car shifts and slows down.

Interestingly enough I know a guy who has a fit, bought one of the first in my area and has nothing but problems with it.

Paint problems, inside trim falling off problems, mechanical problems.

I heard the Fit has several paint problems from the manufacturer. Hey! The Fit is JDM made!! I'm happy with my Civic. I'm sure the tranny, in your case, acts normal so do mine. I'm pretty positive this version of the 5-spd auto is already a big improvement over any of the previous Hondas. (Acura included) At least the gear hunt is less during normal speed, and the power is pretty much there when you need a downshift. =D
