Cruise wont engage?

Does anyone else have this problem? I hit the cruise button on my wheel and the light on the dash turns on, then i hit the SET button and nothing happens. Is this a known issue with the new civics. I will most likely bring it to the dealer on monday but would like o know if anyone else has had this problem. I only have 300 miles on the car so far.

Is your car a Manual? if so, release your foot ALL THE WAY off the clutch. I had the same problem, even if a little tap on the clutch, the cruise will not engage. So put your left food on the foot rest on da left and hit set again. It'll work.

It's most likely your foot resting on the clutch. If not, take it to the dealer... they wouldn't have the car in production if there was a known problem w/ the cruise control... That would be the last problem they would have as the throttle is DBW

I haven't had this happen on the civic but it happened on my wifes dodge caliber and it was just a bad cruise switch. Take it to the dealer and they should fix it.

Firstly...and a dumb question, but you are going over say 25-30 mph (I think that's the low mph for it to engage) when you hit 'set'..right? Second...no touchy on the clutch, brake etc while hitting 'set'.....Thirdly....the 'set' switch is foobarred or something else. Good luck

I've always wondered how does a cruise control works on a manual. Does it shift for you or does it stay in the same gear only adding gas?

oh you don't know? it's a wonderful technology. Yeah it shifts for you. awesome, because you see the shift knob moving on its own!!!! lol jp. When you hit your final gear, that's when you can use your cruise control.

can you start the car without stepping on the clutch? maybe the safety switch is bad.

Goofy, I envy your sense of humor, but you have to understand something, not everyone is a MT freak. I haven't driven a stick in my whole life, and somehow I manage on living my life. I was just curious.
