How much gas for first bar of gas?

Does anyone know exactly how much gas the very first bar of gas is if you don't top off and let it fill normally.

My first bar always goes away around 20-21 miles so I'm guessing the first bar is 1 gallon?
Anyone know a definite answer-- thanks!

I just filled up yesterday and actually just saw the first bar go away... Mine went at 19...

Mine drops slow at first but once gets to 1/2 tank it seems to drop pretty fast. I've never paid attention to how many miles for the first bar.

I don't know if it's just me but mine is slow to take away the first bar(usually 30+ miles) And after the first bar it'll drop like 3 instead of just dropping one by one. I don't think there really that calibrated I don't know for sure.

On my SI its always 30+ miles bt on my gf's lx its usually around 17 and shell get around 300-350 a tank while ill get around 350-400 miles per tank

Quick question...
Has anyone drove with gas light on and no bars?
I ask cause I'll stop and fill up when 1 dot is left... And I can only put 10.5 gallons to fill up and I know our car holds more than that(LX)

I've driven with no bars for what seemed like a while maybe 40 or so miles and put 11.5 in the tank, correct me if I'm wrong don't our tanks(si) hold 13.2 or so?

I always thought it was calibrated I guess not
In the manual it said when the yellow gas light comes on, you have 1.9 gallons of gas left.

Our tanks are 12.3 gal I've driven with no bars for what seemed like forever and fill-up it took 12.299 gal it was probably like 30-40 mi. Highway

It takes 80+ miles for my first bar to go away. Lol... Gives me 330+ to a full tank.. I've driven around 13 miles while all bars are gone. Just to test it out so when money's tight ha. (had a 3 gallon in the trunk ready) fills up 11 1/2 with a bar

I believe it's just how much you top off at...gas over here is 3.45 91 octane. If I top it off all the way, my bars won't drop till about 85-90 miles. But when I just put like 25 bills and it shows full, the bars drop off around 35-40 miles, depending on how low I was at. It's funny, I thought I was the only trippin on this haha!!

Fill up exactly when the light comes on and it could be anywhere from 9.5 to 11.5 gallons. The gas gauge is insane and can't make up its mind.

I'm usually around 40 miles when the first dot disappears.

I average between 27-33 MPG depending on the time of year.

Yep, depends upon how much air space is left in the tank. If you pull the pump nozzle out after the pump shuts off and take it slow, 2 more gallons or so fit, and then the gas gauge doesn't move for over 100 miles depending upon fuel consumption.

You're not really supposed to fill up like that, but I've done it for years. Haven't broken anything yet! But I'll post my findings if I do.
