VSA?

Ok, Ive been searching around the 8th and found out that only the 07 si's comes with the vsa. I was just wondering, is that why the 07 si's are more expensive than the 07 si's. Or is the price increase due to the fact that its a year newer than the 06?

Also is it true that turnning off the VSA lets you accelarate faster. If its true will an 06 si be more faster than the 07 si (with the VSA on)? And will they be the same if the 07 si's have the VSA's turned off?

Im not trying to start a flame here so please try to keep that in mind when posting your advise and opinions.

thanx

Unless conditions are perfect, and you lose traction during acceleration, which is most of the time, the VSA will kick in. The VSA cuts back on your throttle to limit slip. I shut mine off most of the time unless the roads are slippery. I do not like a computer telling me how to drive my car.

VSA shouldn't be allowed for this type of car.

Adding features allows the manufacturer to justify a higher price.

Check out all the Sis on this board that cold have used the VSA. You can find them by doing a search for: totaled, crashed, DOA, RIP, wrecked, rollover, accident...

I remember when the si's first came out in 2006, the invoice on those were like $19,XXX and when I purchased my si early this Febuary, the invoice was around $20,000 to & $20,500. Around a $500-$1000 difference.

I thought all Civic's always had LSD?

You can turn it off? I thought it was always on, when I read the manual, the light will come on when it's active, and it should be off during normal driving.

Stability Assist systems (VSA for Honda) will be mandatory by 2010, Honda is just getting ready for it by slowly working it into every model.

Its unfortunate that technology has become a bandaid for incompetant driving, buy to be honest... 90% of drivers can't drive.

Don't even get me started on ABS... My opinion, the only thing that should be thinking about what the car 'should' be doing is my brain... not some computer.

The Civics, especially the Si were so overpriced the first year that the price increase isn't as painful as it seems.

The TCS component will mess with your launch, so with a good driver and good road conditions no VSA will be faster.

IMO VSA w/TCS was a good addition to the Si, and the TCS is pretty good on these cars, it lets you keep accelerating instead of just cutting power completely.

Although I'm glad TCS is able to be turned off with the touch of a button, it would be nice if VSA could be turned off seperatly. When I want a good launch I want TCS off, but I want to keep VSA on just in case.

If you think ABS and VSA is bad, I'm watching future car right now, they want the computers to drive the cars completely, and even have LCD windows, talk about being detached from the road!

Is the Canadian version different from the American?

Because I don't see any button for turning the VSA off? Or does the Canadian one even have VSA?!!!
