mine when in 4 years but the previous owner learned how to drive standard on the car and cant drive a standard till this day. i had mine done when the common 3rd gear problem happened and the stealership near my house tried to screw me and they were talking about $3000+ tax to get just the clutch done.

took almost 4 years for mine to go out. It didn't cost me anything to replace since I was already replacing my valvetrain when we found out it was almost done for... but from what I hear, it's usually around 500-700 for labor to replace it, if you can find someone to do it for less, go for it. I did this 2 years ago and replaced the stock clutch with a stage 2 clutch I got on ebay... here we are 2 years later and it's still holding up pretty good. I don't plan on keeping it, next year I plan to get an exedy clutch/flywheel upgrade, or whenever this one wears out. good luck.

i work for nissan and yeah like every one said if driven correctly a properly adjusted clutch will last the life of the vehicle. we rarely ever do clutchs unless the cars been beat or the owner request due by milage. the clutch will ussauly let you know when its on the way out. you may notice a spougy clutch pedal do to the clutch over heating caused by worn friction plates. however if it starts making noise upon engagement take it in asap. that would be caused by either a worn throw out bearing or the rivets holding the friction plates onto the clutch disk making contact with the flywheel/pressure plate. flywheels are usualy expensive. as far as price, its one of those "you pay for what you get" kind of deals.
