133mph governor????

OK So I finally found a flat road long enough to attempt a high speed run, and I find that at 133mph 5900RPM the car jerks as if fuel is cut, drops to 132 and then back up to 133... WHAT IN THE HELL?? I thought there was no governor on this thing? I posted this in the vehicle issues forum because I consider it a problem.. I have Si number 2355 manufactured in November 06

I was doing a steady 128-130 the other day with an Audi, and had no problems at all. Of course, I was a few mph off from your speed. Did you try a search for speed limiters?

yes the are governed it is somewhere around 130. I was watching some video of a guy on a dyno and it wouldnt go any further, and I think I read it in a review somewhere. There is another thread on this, but I dont think they really knew...They all said it was aero drag. Sorry but aero drag doesnt send a fuel cutoff...

even if it wasnt governed it would still only top out around 140 or so.

yes there are many threads about this issue and to the OP: pretty much going to the dealership to tell them your car's top speed is 133 and you're upset bc it won't go any further than that...please videotape it and post it on youtube. I wanna get some laughs out of it.

yeaa, the tov si hit somewhere around the 150+ range on their hub dyno but i got stuck at 133 when i tried it. i went to the top of 5th which was around 133 or so, then switched to 6th but when i switched to 6th, i just started slowing down for some reason

Have you noticed when you hit 6th, the car doesn't seem to accelerate as quickly as the other gears? I feel like mines' a turtle in 6th.

I think I know why. I don't believe the summer tires are an option in Canada. This means that they get the factory all seasons. They are only rated for 130MPH. :)
