Bumped into parked car...damnit...
I was backing into a parking spot and didn't realize that the car on the opposite side was partially parked into my spot as well and i bumped it slightly going at like 1 or 2 km/h...There aren't any visible damages, but I was just wondering if I should be worried about any internal damages...
thanks |

i always back out of my driveway.
but from time to time, my aunt comes over with a Lexus and parks behind me. and being so used to backing out, i hit her car. this happened about 3 times! but like your situation, there were no visible damage done to my rear bumper, or her Front bumper. And yeah, there is no internal damage done to my car (98 Civic EX) |

I did that too. I was parallel parking on a popular street near a bus stop that goes to the university (So I didn't have to pay to park on campus) and I squeezed into a spot a little too small (even for my Civic) and I tapped the front of my bumper to an Impala in front of me.
My first instinct was, "It's an Impala, it deserved it." But then after I got out and checked and saw absolutely zero damage to his bumper, but a scuff on mine, I left him a little note with my number just saying I bumped his rear bumper parallel parking, and didn't think there was any damage to his car, but for him/her to call me for more information. Never got a call. |

Yeah...left a note
there weren't damages on his vehicle...heck the dirt that was on my bumper wasn't even scratched off slightly, i guess because of how slow i was going. I was just letting it move idly into the spot with foot off the gas. I bumped him squarely so the impact wouldve been distributed across the entire bumper, i think. Probably wouldve been different if i hit him at an angle. The ground was filled with snow so it was tough to see the spots too...lol...i'm gonna pay more attention to ppl taking up two spots from now on... |

Props to leaving a note.
I have to admit I was hesitant leaving a note on the Impala I gave a love tap too, because there was absolutely no damage to his vehicle at all, but I was left with a scuff. I was worried the person would be an ass and try to claim "I damaged the car heavily" or something, or use it as an excuse for a free repair if he damaged it after I had bumped it. I chose to leave a note though. I also carry, in addition to paper and pencil, www.youparklikeanasshole.com 's lovely "tickets", in case I run into any asshats :). |
