Well now that I've done it once, it probably wouldn't be as much of a hassle.

In retrospect though I really don't know if it was worth it. However, if you have nothing better to do, might as well do it because in theory it should work great (I did it along with the coolant bypass).

As for any gains/feeling/temp diff etc, I really can't tell. The engine seems to be slightly cooler after driving around town for a while (?). I mean I don't think theres any way to tell without some fancy equipment so you might as well trust hondata on that one.

Also, as batang just mentioned you do have to take your time and think. It's like a big puzzle with all the tools... theres a lot of times where you will just move back from the car and think how the F*** am i supposed to get that bolt on/off.

Get someone else to help when you do this. That's my best advice.

Goddamn, I just ordered mine and these posts have scared the poo poo out of me

I've done a lot of mods in the past, but this one soulds f'n awful! Worse than headers, pulleys, and what not!

Thankfully I have a buddy who did one on his RSX-S, so with his help I don't forsee too much trouble...hopefully

I will be starting mine promptly @ 10am tomorrow, I was going to do it today, but did the TB coolant bypass & CAI breather mods instead.

Well i started a little late @ 11 am and finished at 4pm. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give it 7ish. There were times when I was like WTF!!!!! But if you take your time and read up on various DIY, it shouldn't be a problem. Props to all that have done this mod, and GOOD LUCK to any who will attempt. Hondata FTW

Batang, and I say this in all seriousness... You are the man. I have read many of your DIY, and no matter what, they always help. Thanks a lot. I must call you out on this however, you make it look much easier than it really is. I looked at several DIY here and there, in conjunction with your info and the research paid off. The bottom bracket was a PITA and twisting and removing was tough since there really wasn't much room to work with. I was fortunate to have many different extensions and tools at my disposal. Some of the hoses didn't want to come off, But 5 Hours, two scratches, 1 dropped bolt, no broken pieces, no leaking lines, no major issues = satisfaction. Vtec

I meant if I have enough space to install the gasket do I need to disconnect the radiator hose from under the manifold and take apart the entire assembly?

you still need to drain the coolant. when you pull the intake manifold from the rest of the engine, theres a section where the coolant goes through that will just leak out very quickly. trust me, it was not a fun thing to clean up.

if you look at this picture batang has

you can see that the intake manifold is hanging on by that protruding bolt thingy... that's one of two along the top. all the things you are removing etc (including the bracket underneath) allow the manifold to come off
