1/8 ratchet

Not trying to be that guy, but the DIY didnt really go into enough detail I think. Pretty much said remove everything and put on the new gasket, put it back together. Good DIY should show how to remove all the parts involved in the process. My $0.02

when i do mine ill tkae mre detailed pictures...for those who are not familiar with takeing manifolds off.

I have the TB gasket. I also bypassed the coolant to the TB at the same time. I wish I had recorded the temp before/after, because the TB stays nice and cold now

Storm, you think you could get pics of exactly which hoses go where for this? I'm interested in doing this... I understand the concept, but I'm not sure exactly which is which.

Nice DIY however i dont think the IMG really helps maybe like 1 HP but not really.

in the third picture where it says to disconnect that hose at the bottom, do I need to get underneath to reach this, or am I good from the top? Just want to know in advance if I should be jacking the car up . . .

You guys should look at using our extended intake manifold stud kit. The stock studs are a little on the short side (35mm) to make up for the thicker Hondata gasket. We use a premium German stainless steel stud (50mm) and we also include brand new Honda flange nuts and also heat insulating washers. The washers are important because heat is still transfered from the head to the manifold via the stock studs/nuts/bolts. You can check them out here:

All right, this is my second Saturday in a row wasted attempting this install . . . I CANNOT GET TO THAT BOTTOM HOSE! I can't get my hand in there to pull it off. I don't even care if I get flamed for it at this point . . . SOMEONE HELP! Any tips or advice are appreciated.

Pull out the studs. I had to do it. I tried and tried and tried for hours to get that bottom hose off, and I couldn't. I ended up taking the studs out (they aren't more than finger-tight from the factory). The simplest way to do it would be to tighten two nuts together on the stud, then use your open-end wrench on the inner nut to back out the stud. When you're done and ready to put the studs back in, just finger-tighten them, then use a pair of pliers to GENTLY snug them into the head (be careful not to ruin the threads). I did this and everything went back together great. Hope this helps.
