Most people are changing fluid to Amsoil Syncromesh and that's eliminating shifting problems. I have two quarts on order now. Search on "syncromesh" and you'll find some discussion about it.

no they won't. They won't see it as "defective" and there's no bulletin or recall (an admission by Honda that there is some level of problem with the car) telling them how to handle this complaint should they be presented with it. You could ask, you never know.

I did the amsoil change and fixed the third gear problem but I'm 90% the second gear grind at WOT didn't start until after the switch to new tranny fluid. Otherwise I'm sure I would of noticed when I put my SS on and did a bunch of runs.
I still take it up to the redline 1 -> 2 but I just take my time with the shift and it avoids the grind. I seem to keep more speed that way then shifting before 8,000. I know it's not me since I can shift as fast as I want any other gear. |
