Most people are changing fluid to Amsoil Syncromesh and that's eliminating shifting problems. I have two quarts on order now. Search on "syncromesh" and you'll find some discussion about it.

All I did was pull the shifter to the left as you pull back into 2nd. But I think I might go with Synchromesh in the spring

My second gear acts like that too! It's a B!tch! I usaully shift earlier than redline around 7700-7900 in order for it not to grind. My 3rd is fixed by changing my MTF with GM Synchromesh.

no they won't. They won't see it as "defective" and there's no bulletin or recall (an admission by Honda that there is some level of problem with the car) telling them how to handle this complaint should they be presented with it. You could ask, you never know.

Im fine with 2nd gear but it is 3rd gear that some times doesnt want to go in it sucks have we uncovered an issue here it seems like alot of people are having this problem. I was told it would be remedied by changing the bushings.

Try using Amsoil, UPS just delivered my 2 quarts today. Hopefully I'll have it done by this weekend. People have been getting good results by swapping the fluids Theres a DIY on here also, doesnt look to difficult

I have the comptech ss and aluminum shifter cable bushings, I guess I'll have to order the base bushings and wait and see if 2nd gear still acts up like it does.

I'm holding out for my 2 quarts of Amsoil to get here by Friday so I can take the care to my service center and get it changed!

our k series trannies are known for this gear grind, people suggest changing the tranny fluid, try using the new Acura MTF.

I did the amsoil change and fixed the third gear problem but I'm 90% the second gear grind at WOT didn't start until after the switch to new tranny fluid. Otherwise I'm sure I would of noticed when I put my SS on and did a bunch of runs.

I still take it up to the redline 1 -> 2 but I just take my time with the shift and it avoids the grind. I seem to keep more speed that way then shifting before 8,000.

I know it's not me since I can shift as fast as I want any other gear.
