Turbo woes

So i have the GReddy kit with some alternative tuning, no emanage. I'm on my way to the dry cleaners today and the car stalls on me. I start it up, no issues. Trying to merge onto the highway and the car won't go into boost. That's fine, i drive like a bitch and stay out of boost. When i take the exit and start downshifting the car backfires and sends plumes of smoke all over the place. Real smokeshow! I pull over and look under the hood, at first all looks good. Then i notice a light film of oil all over the engine compartment. Where is it coming from? Upon further inspection i notice that the BOV has oil dripping out of it. My assumption: not good. I could understand the smoke from the oil mixed in with the air/fuel mix but why the lack of boost. Further fuel issues???? Where is the oil coming from to begin with? Could the seals on the turbo gone out? Had the car towed home and now it's dark and raining so i haven't been able to look at it anymore. Any ideas?

Think i will take the kit off and go N/A until i can afford ajp. See an issues with going back from FI to N/A?

Didn't want to kill the car this soon!!!

turbo seal is gone. thats why you blew tons of smoke(oil got into the piston from the turbo leacking oil fromn the seal on the compressor side)and the reason you are having oil coming out from your blow off valve, bet you $5 if you disconnect the pipe coming from the intercooler to your turbo you will find oil in it.Good luck

I was running close to 9 lbs of boost and i don't think that turbo can handle much more than 12. I definitely didn't drive it nice. Don't think GReddy will do anything to work with me either. Will never buy thru them again. Cheap ass product all the way around. I've installed some turbonetics kits, peak horsepower and what not and all have had much higher quality. I'm too damn impatient and it bit me in the ass this time. Bought the GReddy kit a few weeks before AJP put theres out on the market. Live and learn

How about the PCV valve, or worse ringlands. Hows the compression?

What kind of numbers were you putting down with your car? Did you have any good kills? Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope you get this sorted out.

The OP's post is probably the main reason why my car will stay as stock as possible. I will only make changes to the car that would be as good as stock or better meaning nothing else changed in reliability. I read on here about tons of people having problems after mods. Simply put, I don't want to create any problems.

No compression test yet, hopefully this weekend. No official dyno charts but had about 260-270 at the wheels. Weak for 8.5 psi.
