Speakers blown after 6 months....

My speakers are just scratchy as hell above 10 or 15.... they are horrible. i rarely take it above 20-25 but that shouldnt make them die this soon. will this be covered by warranty.

what do you drive? an EX or LX?

IMO stock speakers aren't good for anything. If you really want to bump, at lease get a pair of after market ones.

Most OEM speakers are one way POS's.

Aftermarket is always the way to go but for the civic, I think they are a pain in the ass to replace, especially the rear deck speakers.

why don't you turn down the bass and turn up the treble all the way up that's how i like to listen to music, in my si the speaker sound really good for being stock

My rear deck speakers have gone also after only 9 months of use and not playing it usually above 20 or so. I'm still waiting on my dealer to call me to come in for the speaker replacement.

The speakers, especially the subwoofer vibrate insanely. I keep my settings like this and it seems to keep my speakers from rattling and vibrating:
Sub: +6
Bass: +2
Treble: +4

Btw, it's an 06 EX Coupe.

Could be that the head unit's amplifier is clipping, not that the speakers are blown.

what civic do you have cause i have the si with the 300 watt system and i never take it above 20. it sounds like shit any higher than 20. maybe thats your problem, especially if its the regular sound system.

I don't think thats the case. He said at 10-15, head units internal amps generally clip in the 75%+ range

Well the 8inch sub in my EX has been busted for about 6 months. I have an 06 that I got in late 05, will they replace it?

I put the settings that way and it sounds way too tinny for me. I like to hear bass while I'm driving.
