Tranny Problems?

So I was driving the other day(it was COLD out) and I'm going abou 25, I try to give my car gas and it acts like its in neutral(revs doesn't acc) So I and up reving it like three times before it jumps into gear.

Then today I go to stop at a stop sigh and it lurches on me, or at least it felt like it. I don't really drive like sh*t. I mean I might punch it when it might not be warm but thats almost never. Any ideas. also if I'm going steady right around 40mph and give it more gas(to acc) it sounds a little labored, it seems like the car is shaking ever so slightly(10,00k on the car) HELP!

def something wrong with your tranny, def take it to the dealer..

however the only problem you may have which i have had is that if the dealership can't duplicate the problem, your shit out of luck until they can experience the problem themselves..thats usually the case..i suggest figuring out a way to bring it to them on a cold motor this way you have a better chance, gl

sounds like the forward clutch isn't getting enough pressure to hold; which could be caused by anything in the hydraulic line thats used to apply it piston seals pressure regulator, check valve etc etc...or it could be something simple like not enough fluid, your best bet is to take it in. slipping while in gear is defiantly not good

the part about it being labored, can you describe the sound?

and about the lurching, many of the automatic drivers feel it.. apparently it's a characteristic of this car =(

i'm not sure about the revving though, mines only does that once in awhile, but it revs once.. then it just seems to "Catch" and the car goes flying with literally whiplashing acceleration and a thud/jolt

I gotta check that out. You have any idea how to check the tranny fluid in a R18 auto?

I'm not sure what honda recommends but you probably need to check it with the engine all warmed up and then move the selector through all the ranges a few times then place it in park with the engine still running and then check the dip stick.
