Morning starting problem

I think my car is having a battery related problem. All week my car is having to start in the morning. I have to turn the key a little longer to start the car. After that the car is fine, if i leave my car up to 4 hours, the car will start just fine (turning they key normally). What do you think? Battery? Why only happend in the morning?

Thanks

I do know before turning the key all the way, wait about 10 seconds. Something to do with fuel pressure.

My car does this as well and it seems to not happen when you do the above

I went to the dealer today. They didnt check anything (did'nt open the car). They told me that it could be a pressure drop of the fuel line. Also they told me to wait a few seconds in the morning before turning the key all the way. If that does'nt help i have to leave the car for a day.

Any other idea?

I just had this issue earlier!! I have an 06 EX Coupe. I must have held the key for a good 2-3 seconds if not more to try and get the car to start and it wouldn't kick over. I let go of the key and waited a sec and tried again and the car turned over but not as quick as it usually does. Btw, it was 24 degrees in NYC.

This car is really starting to piss me off. First, the dealer wouldn't put the new belt in (the TSB for vibration@1400RPM). They were like we never heard of this. Then my passenger seat came loose, my speakers went in my car and I'm still waiting for the dealer to call me to come in for my replacement speakers. My cargo net keeps popping out on the right side and now this with my starter!!!

When I bought a Honda, I was expecting Honda reliability!!! What gives!!! And yes I'm aware that it's a first year for the model.

The only way that would happen is if you have a either a faulty fuel pump,or fuel pump relay.

My car keep having the problem. All days when starting the car for the first time, it wont start normally. I have to keep the key turned a little longer to start the car. I tried to turn the key and wait 10 seconds before starting the car, but it does'nt work. This problem only happens when starting the car first time in the morning, the rest of the day the car start just fine.

It seems my car is doing worse again after it got better. The car practically sputters on now and my friends are always like WTF!!! I'm getting close to leaving the car at the dealer.

For crying out loud my friend's 1998 Hyundai Accent starts up better than this and my other friends 1993 Nissan Maxima starts up better also.

Happens on mine too from time to time. Not quite consistent enough for the dealer to have it happen to them, but for example i dropped it off with them yesterday and they replaced the battery since it tested a bit low on the cold-crank amps test but today (with the brand new battery) it had trouble starting again. wtf. At least it's becoming more and more often so hopefully it'll get to the point where they can identify the problem.

this has been discussed MANY MANY TIMES!! OP, this is normal for it to take a bit longer to start up when you first start it up.

read thru the manuals you got. in there, it states this is normal and does this for "emissions purposes".

So you're saying a properly functioning car is SUPPOSED to not start the first time you start it? Rubbish. No other car behaves like that. It's not a feature it's a bug.
