Smile R18 ECU Update

Hey all just wanted to let everyone know a new ECU update is available for the R18 engine. Just had mine done like 30 min ago and if feels better already . The throttle seems more responsive. I haven't been able to try it from a dig yet. Before it felt like I wasn't giving it any gas at all even when flooring it from a dig.

Had it done at Richmond Honda @ the Richmond Automall.

Brought in for regular maintence

Just brought my car in for it's first B1 service and the guy went and checked another computer and came back to tell me a new update was going to be added to the service @ no charge of course. :)

I believe many many R18 owners would be very happy if you could find that TSB number.

Yeah - check your service invoice to see if it references a TSB.

Exclamation Info on ECU Update

Hey all ok to answer some questions:

I have a 2006 CANADIAN Civic LX Sedan Automatic Transmission.

Ok so here is the info from my service invoice:

E K56. PUD LAF SOFTWARE. V-1-07
CAUSE S/B V-1-07. PUD.
125517 REPROGRAM ECM/PCM SOFTWARE
11 GRECO, JOHN MVI M07361 LIC#: 1743-AM-91
W
FC:K56-5LF
PART#: 36531-RNA-A01
COUNT: 0
CLAIM TYPE: W
AUTH CODE:

2025 SOFTWARE UPDATE LOP125517 DEF 5LF CON K56 .3 HRS

After the servicing the car felt a better. The throttle seemed more responsive. I just tried the car from a dig and it did seem to respond much quicker, as well it felt quicker. It was raining though, so I need to try it in better weather (hopefully soon).
Before if I launched from a stop it would feel like I was slowly accelerating and not flooring it. I have driven serveral other cars and this is the only one that has ever done something like that. I thought it was just the Throttle by Wire system not letting me go fast . But it seems much better now .

Rep for good info

Probably most cars

I don't think it is only for Canadian cars. As ours Canadian and USDM are almost identical except for some add-on features eg: heated mirrors, color choices, etc... The info from above is exactly from the service invoice they gave me so just print it out and bring it to your dealer on your next service and they should be able to find it. Good luck :)
