To the OP...

Please man... I know you filed with ebay but consult a civil lawyer... They can tell you about options (legal ones) and often if you have a stong case will take the case for free and take a percent of what you win and only get paid if you win.

He on the other hand will have to pay for a lawyer to defend himself. Soooo if you can keep on him with your laywer you are not paying for until you win something, you can essentialy keep bleeding him of his money until you win or he just gives up and will settle out of court because you are bleeding him.

Best of luck bro... Oh and keep calling civil lawyers till you find one that will take a percentage of what you win.

I bought my invidia header from him almost a year ago.. I picked it up in person. Nice guy didn't have any problems with him. As far as his car goes, it was nice from a distance but the interior was very dirty and not taken care of and the conversion was poorly executed. Gl op hope eveything works out for you. I think I might have his address still

First of all, if you buy such a heavily modified car, sight unseen, you should be prepared to find so many 'issues'. I took one look at that car when it was on eBay and realized that it was some hack-job-ricer's aborted project. I think the eBay link even got posted in the 'rice thread' on here.

Second of all, how do you plan to pass inspection without an airbag in the steering wheel? How are you going to get that thing registered? Its going to cost you THOUSANDS just to get it to a point where it is registerable. Did you think that through before purchasing? Also, on a side note, I'd bet good money that NONE of the airbags work in that car.

Third of all, $16,200 for that! Holy crap!

Sorry OP, but buyer beware...especially when buying something that is heavily modified. I mean, eBay is even providing independent inspections on cars listed in auctions on their site for potential buyers. $100 bucks and you could have had a pro check it out.

1. I was prepared for minor issues but not major works. I wouldn't consider it "rice" but its obviously poorly done.
2. I just purchased a factory steering wheel with airbag yesterday on the forum. And I got a few people looking for factory seats for me in local. GA law does not require annual inspection at least not where I live.
3. You are completely right about that. I only paid $16,200 for a used car in MINT condition or ULTIMATE SHOW CAR in his words. This is nothing like it.

The thing with eBay inspection is that they are not familiar with cars that has bunch of aftermarket modifications. If they miss anything during inspection, that record could be used against me. The bidding was nearly end when I entered. So I took my time researching into his car and exchanging messages with him. The seller was deliberately creating misconceptions by telling everyone about his awards at car show. He even told me to search his full name on the web and I did find him in the awards list in multiple places. When he was selling the car on the forum, most of people would think its legit including me.

i am confused? your r18 was very nice. why didnt you just do a motor swap instead of buying a "show" car? your insurance would also be cheaper since its a civic not the si model : ) just my .2

Mainly because I wanted a sedan so I could do FD2 conversion. And later it would be much easier for anyone to hop in the car especially my grandparents.

As adults we must take responsibility for our actions. You did not do your homework. If you had, you wouldn't have bought the car. No one MADE you buy that car. That was your decision.

Believe none of what you hear, and half of what you see.

It's good that you submitted the thing with ebay the day you got it. I think that will help. Let us know how it goes down.

How can you assume that I did not do the homework? If you had read the first post carefully and every other posts, you should knew that I spent tons of time researching into his car. I even made a timeline with a list of things he had done to the car before I bought it. I ordered a Carfax report and discovered his latest car accident that I wasn't told. Maybe some of you miss the focus of this thread, FRAUD. I have to agree with that quote though.

Stop exaggerating. It still gets 20 mpg on hwy like a pickup truck!! It does look like somebody spent their lunch time working on it though.

Really clean R18 though. Too bad you gave that up for this. I'd say do whatever you can to get him back.
