i drew a sketch so that you can see what i am talking about and i used a picture from a DIY to show the bolt i am talking about....
1. remove bolt 2. make hole larger - extend about 1/2" down 3. pull/push up on bumper so there is no gap 4. put bolt back in hole and tighten the bolt should then hold the bumper up so there is no gap. |

I had that problem too - for about 2 minutes. You have to make sure all the tabs go in where they are supposed to. If you look when you are pushing the bumper back in, there are plastic tabs on the bumper cover, and "receiving" tabs where the plastic tabs go. They ALL need to slide under the receiving tabs, or you will have the problem you are having.
SO - basically, you need to get one side in, and have someone hold it, then get the other side in. The way I did it was to angle the bumper cover down (so when you are holding the front, the rear points down), and slide it in. It shouldn't be a problem. This needs to be done before any bolts/screws/plastic pop rivets are put in. The only way I can see it being a problem is if it was not put on correctly so one of those tabs was bent. Give it a shot before drilling. Hope this helps. |
