Civic 2007 LX - clunking sound from rear and front when making turns.
Just bought my Honda Civic 2007 LX a couple of weeks ago after driving two 5-series bimmers in a row before... Here in Florida traffic is much worse and distances are longer compared to Canada where I moved from. Plus importing the BMW here with km not miles on the dashboard will be problematic.
Anyway, everything is ok with the Civic except those strange klunky or popping noises that occur occasionally when turning left or rigth. They sound more like a sheet of metal bang returning to its shape after bending or something. It's something I would not call serious, and possibly could live with, however, if that would cause a failure in the future, it better be fixed. On bumps or pots the car doesn't make those noises. Anyone has any idea what causes this? Maybe a loose subframe somewhere or an issue with the suspension? Thanks. Last edited by LuciDreamer; 02-13-2007 at 08:45 PM. |

That happens to me too. Most of the time it's random too. I can't pin point it.
It sounds like it's coming from the back passenger side. In my car it sounds like something falling over in the trunk. Like a big thump. Is there a recall for anything similiar to this?!!!! Quote:

I have a similar noise on my 2006 Civic LX 4dr. Usually on very low speeds, there is some metal moving sound on the front left area. It makes the most noise when turning, like in/out of my driveway. I was thinking it had to do with the wheel area, but can't say for sure.

I have experienced the clunk in my front end.
Normally, it is in my driveway, after putting the car in reverse. it sounds almost like a subframe that is lose. I can't seem to MAKE it make the noise, it just happens on occation. Its been happening to me for a year, so apparently nothing is going to fall off, but it is annoying. Anyone have any ideas? |

Ask them for a new engine mount for ur metal moving sound on the front left area. it's a well known issue. I had mine done. it's all good now. |

I have had this clunk as you mention for 8000 miles. At least the belt kit and mount took away some of my noises :) |

Does this clunking problem occur only when you turn the wheel full left or full right, if it only occurs during these situations, it is probably the suspension bottoming out, as when you turn the wheel all the way to the right or left the car will drop a bit, and that causes problems as things are lower than they should be...have the same problem with my grand marquis...horrible sound...I feel so self conscious when it happens...maybe lower control arm smacking the frame, that or some type of turning limiter...I am not really sure how things look underneath the car as I don't have one yet

I am having this same issue but only due to hitting a pothole and popping the tire. Now this noise happens when I'm turning left or right. Since the pothole incident, I got new tires, balanced, and alignment, but this noise persists. I am thinking its time to use the warranty. But before I does anybody have any input as to what could be the cause of this issue?

The buzzing sound at 1500rpm became apparent at around 10K miles. I had the belt replaced under the TSB last week. However, the buzzing sound is still there after I drive the car for an extended time. Did yours go away completely? BTW, my car is a LX GG 4dr. manual trans. |
