subwoofer/rear panel recall

This may be a repost, if not there is a recall for the back panel, they are putting some type of insert in to stop the panel from rattleing. I have my appt. at 3 tomorrow. I will also be getting my passenger side rear seat fixed. when u lean up against it it pops, hard to describe.

Is it a service bulletin or an actual recall?

If it's a TSB, hopefully someone can post it. If it's a recall, honda will notify the owners by mail of the affected vehicles!

Is this for the 06 si or for all 2006+2007 si? Just wondering because I'm waiting to pick mine up any minute now.

I have had the "felt tape" installed twice. It did nothing. The rear shelf makes as much, or more noise now than it did before. Now I get a squeeking noise from the rear shelf moving against the "felt tape". Worthless "fix" in my opinion. I think I am going to have to put some dynamat or something similar in myself.
Also, my passenger seat did the same thing - dealership told me they "tightened up the seat", and of course the problem could not be recreated. (I think they are paid by the amount of times they can tell a customer those words). Anyway, the "popping" went away for a couple days, but has been back since.
They told me if it came back they would order a new seat. If the seat is actually coming loose, that is a real safety issue. I have noticed the same thing on the driver seat. I still have 90% oil life, so it will be a while before I go back. Ill try to remember to post an update when I do.

TSB is for vehicles with 3rd brake light on rear deck, so no Si's

The TSB for the rear deck rattle is for the EX. But the Si shares the same audio system. The dealer can perform the TSB. I own a SI. My dealer used the TSB to make the repair under warranty.

people get over it...that's normal to all cars that have a sub in the back.. imagine putting aftermarket subs in your trunk...your trunk will rattle for sure..

Rattling is one thing - to be expected from the vibrations from the sub. But - what is the point of having the sub if it makes the rear deck move so much that it makes music with even a little bass sound like crap. Poor design, and easily fixed. Too bad the fix is to put some felt tape in place. It did not help in my car at all.
