Has anyone ever bottomed out or hit/scraped up their undercarriage by hitting a curb?
Just curious because i hit a curb like 5 months ago and there was no damage luckily. I scraped up my underbody not too bad, it was mostly that strip beam underneath the doors where the side skirts go and close to the jack points. The reason behind this thread is what should i do? is there any spray on stuff or something i can put over those scrapes or should i be worried? anyone else hit a curb like me by accident? here is picture of the beam. Are these beams under the car there for a reason and to protect the car from curbs? or is it part of the frame?

Got the right front lip on a too tall curb. Lots of scratches. Sigh.

Alright, please don't take offense to the following, however I can't figure out what the hell to say without it sounding bad. How on earth did you get a brand new car with grammar that bad? I apologize if you aren't native to the U.S., because then the grammar would be understandable. However, if you grew up in the US and you have brand new car with a job good enough to pay for that car, I don't understand how the hell you could possibly have grammar that bad. |

I'm not taking up for the fella, as I have never met him. But sometimes I catch myself using absolutely no grammar when I'm chatting with friends or something online. On a message board I clean it up; maybe he was in a hurry...

Grammar & punctuation etc
Yeah, no surprise there even if you are a natural born U.S. citizen since many high school graduates can't read, can't spell, or don't take the time to completely spell words or punctuate sentences. If I see "ur" or some such shorthand in a post I usually skip it since I don't understand Klingon...no offense, and I know this will generate offense. I know many whose whole life is a blur cannot or will not take time to fully spell what you mean but it is a minor....OK a major irritation to an old guy like me.

what you can do when you scrape the bottom of your car is knock off all the undercoating... so if you live somewhere that uses salt you might want to get it undercoated again.

It's okay then right? i just scraped that beam under the car it,it is not the frame right? the beams just protect the frame right? thats why they are there? it is just scraped but should i go to the dealer or a bodyshop to something ? the car drives and rides like it still does when i bought it.
